Winter Deals...

With all of the warmer than usual temperatures, I can't help but look up some warm weather activities. I thought I would share a few of the winter deals you may find at a few of our favorite places (locally).

The Louisville Zoo- From 11/1/11-2/29/12 the zoo is offering 1/2 price admission when you bring in 1 canned good per person

Salato Wildlife Center- this wildlife center opens on February 14th and has some new exhibits and other great opportunities!

The Cincinnati Zoo- from 1/2/12-2/29/12 is having Penquin Days which means 1/2 zoo admission!

The Newport Aquarium-While this is more of a fun thing your family can do anytime, the aquarium has it's winter days as well. This includes 2 kids getting in free with an adult paying full price.

Fazoli's- Although this hasn't been an issue for us yet, when schools are closed due to snow or ice, get a FREE kids meal with the purchase of any adult entrée. You can get up to three FREE kids meals per adult entrée purchase. I am not 100% if this is a regional deal, so call ahead to yours just to make sure.

Other activities my crew has enjoyed over the last couple of months include heading out to the library and building at Lowes. Other great options may include an indoor activity area (Bounce U, Monkey Joe's, Kids Place, etc). There are always some great ideas for a winter outing on a budget but these were just a few that stuck out for me. Enjoy!

Keeping Up With the Harringtons...

Well, the month of January has certainly flown by and we are settling in for February!
In January, we enjoyed going to see the Harlem Globetrotters (Nathan won a contest through a local news station- quite a fun surprise!), movie night with our small group (Soul Surfer), and both my mom's and Nathan's birthday. We've only had 2 snow days thus far and I LOVE the warmer than usual weather! The sun makes me so much happier :) It's also helped the time go by a little quicker as we get ready for Baby Sawyer to arrive! Just last week, I had a doctor's appointment (31 weeks and counting...) and all looks to be going well. She anticipates that he will make his arrival 2 1/2 -3 weeks early but this is no surprise as everyone else has come a little early as well.

February has started off with sunny skies, Groundhog Day, the Super Bowl and birthday planning! Can you believe Asher will be 6 years old?! He's such a smart and funny kid-it's hard to believe they get so big so quickly! This morning he decided that he does not want a party at the local recreation center (where I had planned to reserve part of the basketball court) but would rather have a farm party in the fellowship hall at church with hot dogs and cow decorations. Ahhh....cows...his true love :) I haven't had the greatest of track records lately but here's hoping I am able to update you on the wonderful happenings of February! Have a great day :)
